Sustainable aquaculture at origin
Pangasius from Vietnam is a wonderful fish with a delicate white colour and a flaky meat structure; the abundance of water and an appropriate climate makes the Mekong Delta the perfect place for farming Pangasius. Trace Panga enables total supply chain control of the production of farmed sustainable Pangasius from this source. By investing in Trace Panga, working together with passionate and specialized complementary companies, Anova is dedicated to serve its customers with the best sustainable fish from Vietnam.
Trace Panga Management Program
To obtain a total control of the chain, “from feed to plate”, the Trace Panga Program includes feed programs, veterinary controls, environmental awareness, bacteriological control and checks on water quality as well as management of social standards.
Trace Panga Supply Chain Control
Through the Trace Panga supply chain which we have established in Vietnam, we have created standards for sustainable farming, with as a result a 100% traceable Pangasius, ready for export. Control of the process is strict, including:
- Control on premix and feed suppliers. Feed suppliers are regularly audited by our Anova people in Ho Chi Minh, to fulfil our traceability standards.
- Control of farmers. As 100% of the farming is in ponds, water quality control is very important, as well as strict control on veterinary products (antibiotics, labelling, storage) and up-to-date and complete farming records (origin juveniles, food records, biomass) Education of the farmers about these procedures is essential.
- Control on Processors. Checks and audits on processing, as well as control on bacteria and possible contamination, finally guarantee a 100% control on the end product.
Anova is part of the WWF- and GLOBALGAP team, setting standards for Pangasius.
In 2009 these standards for Pangasius have to be ready.
